What will happen if I forget to log out or leave my computer idle for a period of time?

When there is no activity for more than 20 minutes, the system will automatically log out the user’s session. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts to log into the system.

Does your online service have usage restrictions?

No. There are no time usage limit. However, all subscribers and users are bound by the Terms and Conditions of Use for the website.

Do I need to update you if there are changes in my contact information?

It is advisable to inform us immediately of any changes in your contact information or mailing address. This will ensure that you receive all notices and invoices.

How can I change my billing or delivery address?

You can fill in the form in members area by going to Customer Info hyperlink to change your billing or delivery address.

How can I get a copy of my statements of account / credit notes / invoices / delivery notes / others?

How do you handle renewals?

The CLJ Shariah system will automatically generate invoices for all renewals in the month preceeding the expiry date.

How do I make payments for my purchases?

You may pay by cash or cheque made out to “CLJ Legal Network Sdn. Bhd.” or by credit card via our online payment gateway.

Do you offer student discounts?

CLJ Legal Network understands that students use legal information for research and not part of their commercial activities. We encourage this use at a lower cost.

Many Universities already provide free access to CLJ Shariah on campus. Please check with your law faculty or your library. If they do not provide access, ask them to contact us. We offer very reasonable rates to Educational Institutions that provide student access to our data.

What is available in your database?

The data consists of the following:

  6. Latest highlights including global media reports on Islamic issues.
  7. Listing of Shariah Legal Practitioners.

How do I begin searching?

To begin searching, please log into the site. Once you enter the subscriber’s menu click Search Directory”  under any one of the categories e.g. “Caselaw”, “Legislation” or “Article”. This takes you to the search form. Fill in at least one search column and click SEARCH. Tips on how to search may be found under “Help” at the right column of the screen.  

How can I view state or provincial legislation or rules?

CLJ Shariah does have this within its database which is searchable and may also be viewed using the browse option.

How recent and updated is the content of the database?

The information in the database is updated on a weekly basis.

Is the information available similar to what’s available in the printed journals?

Yes, the information is similar. However, as an added bonus information that is available online includes unreported judgments.

Are your cases downloadable in PDF format?

Yes, all of our cases may be downloaded in PDF format.

When I print the PDF version, the print-out is not the same as the displayed version?

When printing a PDF file please use the PDF printing option and not the browser’s printing option. The PDF option is displayed on the upper left hand corner of the page.

When I download a case from your website, does it come out exactly as it does in the printed journal?

When you click on a case you have searched, the text you see on your screen will not appear exactly as it appears in the printed journal. However the PDF version would enable you to extract a document that closely resembles the printed version.

How secure is your website?

We have taken all necessary steps to keep the website secured at all times. We continuously invest in the right technology that keeps your personal login details and data secure.

How do I obtain my password?

To obtain your password, please do the following:

Go to and enter the e-mail address associated with your account and click continue. Your password will be sent to the e-mail address you provided at the time of registration. For security reasons please change your temporary password once you log into the account.

What precautions can I take to protect my password?

Change the password frequently. A strong password should consist of at least 8 characters and include a combination of numbers and alphabets. 

Can TWO users log into the system at the same time?

No, there are safeguards in place to ensure that no such concurrent logins occur. We offer affordable rates, so we would strongly discourage user/password-sharing. However, please contact us if you encounter problems logging in.

Are there any charges for conducting a case search?

There are no additional charges for conducting searches. Your subscription fee is inclusive of all searches made on the database.

Are there any restriction on eligibility to subscribe?

There are no restrictions on subscription eligibility. The service is open for all to subscribe but we reserve the right to decline any subscription application at our discretion.

Do you have a monthly subscription service?

We do not have a monthly subscription service at present.
