declaration (1) A formal statement intended to create, preserve, assert or testify to a right. (2) The decision of the court or judge on a question of law or rights. (3) A statement of claim in pleading. Declarations consisting of statements made substantially contemporaneously with acts are admissible in evidence as forming part of such acts (or, res gestae). |
