assent Assent means agreeing to or recognizing a matter, as an executors assent to a legacy, or the assent of a corporation to by-laws etc. The assent of the executor or administrator is necessary to complete a legatees title to his legacy. A Bill becomes an Act with the assent of the President or Governor after it is passed by Parliament or a State Legislature. |
