Hukum

(lit. Judgment, opinion, decision) A very complex term that has a variety of meanings in Islamic legal literature ranging between command, rule of law, judgment and an arbitration. The term refers also to Hakam and Hakim; the former an arbiter and the later a ruler who has to power to give final decision.
