Discharge

Generally, a release from an obligation. 1. Discharge of contract refers to the freeing of parties from their mutual obligations by performance, express agreement, breach, or under the doctrine of frustration. 2. Release of a prisoner. 3. Release of a surety from liability. 4. Absolute or conditional discharge, i.e., freeing of a person found guilty of an offence.
